65 year old No Longer Sidelined by Back Pain

I am almost 65 years old and have been playing hockey year round for several years. Downhill skiing is also a passion of mine. Severe back pain stopped me from doing both sports. Living on a ranch, the pain prevented me from doing simple chores and gardening as well. Several doctors indicated that I was not a candidate for back surgery (herniated discs at L3 to L5). Most prescribed opiates and other harsh meds. I tried traditional therapies (10 sessions) but was unable to do most of the exercises due to recurring back pain. Seeking alternative treatment became my goal.

In my first meeting with Blaine, I identified 8 locations in my…View More

Why is Somatics used at Laser Health Solutions?

Why is Somatics used at Laser Health Solutions?

Muscles can become chronically tight or shortened due to repetitive activity or inactivity. If muscles don’t have the opportunity to function at their full length, sensory motor amnesia (SMA) can set in. This means that the nervous system will not allow the muscles to relax and lengthen fully. Pain often results from these compromised muscles. Somatics is neuromuscular therapy. It helps muscles function properly by engaging the nervous system through a series of specific movements.

Somatics Quote

It is common practice for people to stretch tight muscles. However, this is often ineffective due…View More

Osteopath?What’s an Osteopath?

Laser Health Solutions is not just a laser therapy clinic. Some of the most effective manual therapy techniques used by the therapists in our clinic are osteopath techniques. Osteopaths focus on four areas of therapy.

  1. Structural Imbalances. In our clinic, we find that many people require the osteopath techniques that assess and correct structural imbalances. These imbalances, which are found mostly in the pelvis and vertebrae, can lead to significant pain all along the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. Structural imbalances can also lead to sciatica, knee pain and plantar fasciitis.
  2. Fascia. Fascia is the connective tissue that attaches,…View More

Why do you have pain?

Why do you have pain?

Why does your shoulder keep you awake at night? Why won’t the pain in your heel go away? Why does your back ache?

Why is the most important question, because you won’t get rid of the pain until you correct the cause of it.

At LaserHealth™ Solutions, you’ll receive a comprehensive assessment to ensure that your treatment is meant to eliminate the cause of your pain. Treatments are designed for your specific injury or condition and are a unique combination of manual therapy techniques and laser therapy. Treatments work in a curative manner by both correcting structural imbalances and restoring normal cell function.

Why does cold laser therapy heal injuries?

Why Does Cold Laser Therapy Heal Injuries?

The healing effect of near-infrared light was reported decades ago and many studies have been done since then to assess how it works.  It’s been clear that the use of red light with specific wavelengths, like the type used in the Laser Health Solutions clinics, helps the cells’ mitochondria to produce more adenosine triphosphate (ATP).  ATP is the fuel that cells require to do their work – including healing.  With more fuel, cells can do their work better and faster.

Until a recent study done by Andrei Sommer of the University of Ulm in Germany, the most common explanation for an…View More

Knees and back are feeling better

Trudy F. wrote us yesterday to tell us about how her progress has been going for her. "After 4 treatments for knee pain, I've been able to eliminate the need for pain meds during the day and I'm reducing the night time pain meds too. I'm doing excellent! My knees are feeling better, as well as my back. Blaine worked on loosening up along my spine. He is also great at explaining what and why he is doing everything."

We are happy to help you Trudy!

Four Easy Tips to Fix Plantar Fasciitis (plan-tar fash-ee-eye-tis)

Most people in their lifetime will struggle with Plantar Fasciitis in some form. If you experience heel pain that started for no reason and unable to walk comfortably, there is a chance of Plantar Fasciitis. It can be debilitating, terrifying, or just annoying. But how do you know you have Plantar Fasciitis?

“Well, my heel hurts. Everyone knows that.”

Plantar Fasciitis is the tightening of the fascia and muscles on the bottom the foot which connects to the calcaneus. During the night these structures shorten as you sleep, creating micro-tearing and scar tissue at the heel once pressure is reintroduced. A…View More

Shoulder Pain from Inflammation

Good day Blaine, I wanted to take the time to thank you and your staff for the great job of getting me back into playing form after I injured my shoulders.
I am 55 years old and still enjoy playing competitive slow-pitch, 10 pin bowling and curling and have noticed my throwing shoulder getting more stiff and sore as the years go by. Then, I injured both of my shoulders diving for a ball in the beginning to the season of last year. I thought I was done for the season. I went to my doctor who sent me to a specialist who told me that my Long Head Bicep tendons in both shoulder were slightly out of their groove and very inflamed. I was then given…View More

Suffering with Back Pain for 20 Years

It gives me great pleasure to write a few lines after meeting you, going through the evaluation process and then getting
treatment from a professional like yourself.

As I mentioned before during our meeting, I have been a long-time patient of back pain, suffering during the most
part of every year since last 20 years.

I had a surgery from a very reputed surgeon in Calgary, continued to go to [other] therapists. I will not
deny that [they] did give me some relief from pain, but [they have] always been a temporary fix.

I heard, from different sources, about your laser treatment and honestly, I was not sure if I should try or not, but when
you…View More

Walking and Moving Without Even a Twitch!

Good Morning:

I just wanted to drop you line to say thank you! Thank you!  Thank you!

I came to you for sciatic pain and heard about you from 66CFR!  I met with Zachary and he is my hero!  He told me he could help and it would take about 4 to 6 treatments and he was right on.  I could barely walk and now I am walking and moving without even a twitch!  I still do the simple exercises that he told me about, they have become part of my daily routine!  I sing your praises to anyone who listens and recommend you whenever I can!

I am so grateful that you were here in my time of need!

Have a wonderful day,
